TRUFFLE SALT SILKY MASHED POTATOES

Silky, buttery and beautifully aromatic

These luxurious mashed potatoes are enriched with butter and milk, then finished with truffle salt for a subtle earthy depth. Blending the potatoes creates an exceptionally smooth, velvety texture that elevates this classic side dish.


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 kg potatoes - 5 medium approx.(such as Sebago, Yukon Gold, or other floury potatoes)

  • 60 g butter

  • 120 ml milk, warmed

  • 1–1½ tsp organic black truffle salt (adjust to taste)

  • Freshly cracked black pepper (optional)


Method

  1. Cook the potatoes
    Peel the potatoes and cut into evenly sized chunks. Place in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for 15–18 minutes, or until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.

  2. Drain and dry
    Drain the potatoes well and return them to the warm pot for a minute or two to allow excess moisture to evaporate.

  3. Mash and enrich
    Add the butter and begin mashing the potatoes. Gradually pour in the warm milk while continuing to mash until smooth.

  4. Blend for extra smoothness
    For an ultra-silky texture, briefly blend the potatoes using a stick blender or stand mixer until smooth and creamy.

  5. Season
    Stir through the truffle salt and taste, adjusting the seasoning if needed. Finish with freshly cracked black pepper if desired.
